Gene Miller

William Gene Miller, 68, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery with Henry Metcalf, Joe Higdon, Ken Whittle, Harold Lambert, Dee Hodges, Benson Woodbery, Lofton Willis, Dr. Charles Hatcher, and David Bryan serving as active pallbearers. Gene was born January 10, 1944 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Wonnie Buell Miller and Rudolph Justice Miller. He was a graduate of Georgia Military College and attended Presbyterian College, and served in the Air National Guard. He was the owner and broker of Miller-Griffin Realty. He was very active in First United Methodist Church and coordinated the establishment of the United Methodist Hispanic Ministry in Bainbridge. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Mary Rollins Miller of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, William Gene Miller, Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Portland, OR, Nathan Rollins Miller and his wife, Sarah Ball, of Tallahassee, FL, and Willis Banks Miller and his wife, Lesley, of Bainbridge, GA; and his grandchildren, Henry Rollins Miller, William Hayne Miller, and Mary Call Miller, all of Tallahassee, FL, and Winter Claire Miller of Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis Marion Miller, Wonnie Buell "Buster" Miller, Jr., and Parker David "Pete" Miller.
