George Belcourt

Funeral Services for Mr. George William Belcourt, 87, of Bainbridge,GA will be held Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with President Ryan Cleveland officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Graveside Services and Interment will be held at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport, CT. Mr. Belcourt was born in Meriden, CT July 29, 1921 to the now late Arthur and Mary Murphy Belcourt. He had lived the past ten years in Decatur County moving here from Connecticut. He was a United States Army Air Force Veteran serving in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a truck driver and a member of the Retired Teamster Union of Bridgeport, CT #443 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, and Warehousers. Mr. Belcourt loved traveling, ancestry, and his family and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He passed away at his residence in Bainbridge, GA Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Mr. Belcourt is survived by three daughters; June Belcourt of Manhatten, NY, Barbara Guay of Monroe, CT, and Loretta Barber of Perry, FL; six grandchildren; Pierce and Hunter Guay, Tina Cloud, Wendy Tuten, James Blankenship, and Jason Poole; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Pickett Belcourt; sister, Doris Brown; and brothers, Danny Belcourt and Thomas Belcourt.
