He was a faithful Christian and never neglected an opportunity to help those in need. He meant the world to his family and although he will be missed deeply by them, they are blessed to celebrate a life well lived. Gerald attended Seminary in Lakeland, FL and Little Rock, AR. In August of 1950, Gerald married his sweetheart Pansy Bozeman. During his life, Gerald served his community as a firefighter, first responder and minister. His first love was serving the Lord and others. Gerald served God throughout his life through mission work. He had a burden to reach those in need of salvation and attempted to witness to all who he came in contact with. Gerald considered his grandchildren and great-grandchildren the pride and joy of his life and never missed an opportunity to enjoy playful and loving moments with them. Surviving relatives include his faithful wife, Pansy; his loving daughter Pamela Griner DaPrano, his son-n-law David A. DaPrano, three grandchildren, Brian (Alicia), Shawn (Missy), and Amber; his three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Brailey and Andrew; his brother, Louie Griner; his three sisters, Sylvia Thornton, Betty Moat, Bernett Matthews, and numerous nieces and nephews. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and by a younger sister, Delilah Gammage. Reece Funeral Home in Jeffersonville has charge of arrangements.
