George McCook, 67, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Stapleton and Rev. Bob Knight officiating and will conclude at the chapel. George was born August 19, 1943 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Edward George McCook and Lillian James McCook. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1961 and served in the Georgia National Guard. He was a retired electric motor winder having worked for P & B Electric and Flint River Electric. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rebecca C. McCook of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Shannon McCook of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, Jimmy McCook of Bainbridge, GA; his sister-in-law, Joyce McCook; his brother-in-law, Jimmy Childree; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter; his brother, Wayne McCook; and his sister, Theresa Childree.
