George M. Morris, 69, of Jakin, GA, passed away Monday, June 30, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. at 907 S. Mr. Morris was born June 25, 1939 in Jasper, AL, the son of James Edgar Morris and Maudie Sue Banks Morris. He was a carpenter. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maudie Sue Banks Morris; his father, James Edgar Morris; his son, George "Cracker" Morris; four brothers, Otis Morris, John Morris, Albert Morris and Henry Morris and two sisters, Betty Gillott and Edna Nell White. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Carland Morris of Jakin, GA; three sons, David Morris and wife Cindy of Jakin, GA, Eugene Morris and wife Lois of Donalsonville, GA, and Jerry Morris and wife Pauline Dagostino of Bainbridge, GA; a brother, Lester Morris of Jasper, AL; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren
