George Pilcher

George P. Pilcher, 85, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Memorial Hospital. Services will be private. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Pilcher was born May 21, 1923 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Roy Earl Pilcher and Carmen O. Weber Pilcher. He was a graduate of South High School in Youngstown, Ohio and served with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Pilcher worked with Ohio Bell Phone Company for many years and was of the Catholic faith. He was a former member of the Lion's Club and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Jeannette Sailer. Survivors include one son, George R. Pilcher and his wife, Dorothy of Westerville, OH; two daughters, Karen Irwin of St. Petersburg, FL and Karla Beasley and her husband, Roger of Bainbridge, GA; and five grandchildren, Trey Irwin, Taylor Irwin, Katharine Pilcher, Elizabeth Pilcher and Gregory Pilcher.
