George Winburn

George Colon Winburn, 88, of Bainbridge, GA, formerly of Gainesville, FL, passed away Monday, September 2, 2019. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Gainesville, FL. George Colon Winburn was born November 16, 1930 in Helen, FL, the son of John and Alma Ross Winburn. He was a graduate of Sante Fe College with an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. George married Sandra Lee Walker in 1960 and worked as a Florida Highway Patrolman. George and Sandy moved to Bainbridge recently. George was known to salvage "another man's trash", get it working and claim it as treasure. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sandra Walker Winburn; his children, Cindy Winburn Dry and her husband, Dan, Brenda Winburn, and Steve Winburn and his wife, Lori; and his grandchildren, Taylor DuBose, Kyle DuBose, Will Winburn, Daniel Winburn and Mattie Winburn. George was preceded in death by his parents.
