Gerald Huckeba

Mr. Gerald Eugene Huckeba, age 76, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at his home in Bainbridge, Georgia surrounded by his family. Services for Mr. Huckeba will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, September 18, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.

Gerald Eugene Huckeba was born October 25, 1949, in Bainbridge, to Edgar Floyd Huckeba and Helen Grace Norris Huckeba. He was a talented baseball player and played professional baseball. His career was interrupted by the military draft, so, Gerald then served in the United States Army. The Army sent him to Hawaii and he proceeded to play baseball for the US Army. He married Sandra Pollock Huckeba on September 15th, 1994. He was broken hearted when the love of his life passed away in 2023. Gerald worked hard and was a roofer and carpenter working for Southern Storage Solutions until his retirement. He will be deeply missed by his large family and many friends.

Gerald Eugene Huckeba is survived by his children, Jesse Huckeba (Krista) of Bainbridge, Jennifer Huckeba (Branden) of Lake City, Florida, Brian Buckhalter (Marsha) of Bainbridge, Kenneth Star (Denise) of Donalsonville, Georgia, and Curtis Coleman (Teresa) of Macon, Georgia; siblings, Marguerite West (Charles) of Newport News, Virginia, Sandra Josey of Climax, Georgia, Steven Huckeba (Linda) of Lady Lake, Florida, and Keith Huckeba (Joey) of Fruitland Park, Florida; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, children, Marianne Star and Lisa Thornton; and brother, Randolph "Randy" Huckeba.
