Gerald Wells

Gerald Wells, 80, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008, at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2008, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Donna Sue Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Sylvania Cemetery with Corey Wells, Brad Wells, Jody Wells, Steven Wells, Bert Poitevint and Tommy Whigham serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Wells was born October 10, 1928, in Climax, GA, the son of Robert C. Wells and Josephine Bates Wells. He was a graduate of Faceville High School, Class of 1945 and retired with over thirty-five years of service with Stone's. He was a former member of Sylvania Methodist Church and was most recently a member of Faceville Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Wells in 1970 and Pete Wells in 2007 and his sister, Jimmie Lou Tucker in 2005. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, Florene Wells; his son, Tony Wells and his wife Gail of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Debra Lane of Donalsonville, GA; his brother Rudolph Wells of Albany, GA; two grandsons, Corey Wells and Brad Wells; and one great-granddaughter, Zoe Wells.
