Gilberto "El DeLa Village" Martinez-Rodriguez, Sr., 65, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Victor Canela, ST officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with his brothers, sons, and grandchildren serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Rodriguez was born February 5, 1950 in La Villa, TX, the son of Jose Guadalupe Martinez and Guadalupe Rodgriguez Martinez. He was a graduate of Edcouch High School and worked with William Revel's Farm in Hastings FL and Razorback Farms in Springdale, AR . Mr. Martinez loved to meet new people and traveled to many places. He enjoyed music, mexican dances and farm animals, especially peacocks. Gilberto was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Enedelia Aguliar Martinez of Bainbridge, GA; his children, Gilberto Martinez, Jr of TX, Javier Martinez of TX, Jose Guadalupe Martinez of TX, Enedelia Flores of FL, Elosia Balderas of GA, Gilberto Martinez of FL, Gilomar Martinez of FL, Christina M. Ramirez of PA, Julio Castillo of GA and Jenira Castillo of GA; his siblings, Genaro Martinez, Sulema Martinez, Margarita Martinez and Leticia Martinez all of Texas; his 30 grandchildren; and his 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Guadalupe Martinez; his son, Omero Martinez; and his siblings, Liandra F. Torres Martinez and Alejandro Martinez.
