Ginny Dodd Lane, 72, died Wednesday, January 23, 2008 in Dallas, TX. There will be a special Celebration of her life in Jakin, GA on June 14, 2008. Ginny Dodd was born, January 29, 1935, in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Hubert Dodd. She graduated from Washington High School in Washington, GA in 1953 and was very active in the Tri-Hi-Y and Methodist Youth Fellowship groups, and was a very enthusiastic cheerleader for all four years of high school. Ginny attended Wesleyan College in Macon, GA and then decided to see the world, taking a position with American Airlines as a stewardess. She later moved to Tallahassee, FL and worked as a church secretary at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. She attended Florida State University and received her degree in Elementary Education and later received her Master's Degree in ESL (teaching English as a second language). She taught school in Tallahassee and Thomasville, GA for fifteen years and returned to FSU, receiving her Interior Design degree and began doing interior design work, starting her own business, Petals and Interiors. Ginny was very active in Trinity United Methodist Church in Tallahassee for thirty-five years.
