Glen Harper

Mr. Glen Alton Harper, age 57, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida. Services for Mr. Harper will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 8, 2013, at Fitzgerald Cemetery in Lakeland, Florida. The Rev. Gary Shepherd will officiate. Glen Alton Harper was born February 12, 1956 in Lakeland, Florida to Virgil N. Harper and Joan Lovering Harper. Glen was an iron worker/welder. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union #397. He enjoyed woodworking, leather braiding, whip making and taxidermy. Glen loved hunting and fishing. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family. Glen Harper is survived by his daughters, Stacy Mattair and husband, David of Cairo and Morgan Harper of Lakeland, Florida; father, Virgil N. Harper and wife, Vicki of Cairo; grandchildren, Phoenix and Elijah Mattair of Cairo; and sister, Diane Brooks of Ft. Meade, Florida. Glen was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Lovering Harper, and brother, Gary Neal Harper. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1701 N. Beauregard Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22311.
