Glenda Annette  WhitakerAugust 20, 1938 - November 20, 2023 Glenda Annette Whitaker, age 85, of Brinson, Georgia, passed away Monday, November 20, 2023. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023  at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Eric Gould and Reverend Bruce Gordon officiating.  Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Robin Billings, Matthew Gould, Paul Sullivan, Kolte Whitaker, Dane Sheets, and Jackson Sullivan serving as active pallbearers.  Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Glenda was born August 20, 1938 in Bainbridge, Georgia the daughter of Gordon Henry Kendrick and Genella Ard Kendrick. She graduated from West Bainbridge High School with the class of 1957. Glenda was a stay at home mother and wife. She dedicated her life to the service of her family. Glenda loved gardening, painting, sewing, and fishing. You could find her on any body of water with Melvin. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Gilead Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include her children, Ronnie Whitaker (Joyce) of Moultrie, GA, Brenda Borden (Paul) of Douglas, GA, Donna Billings (Robin) of Moultrie, GA , and Karen Gould (Matt) also of Moultrie, GA; her grandchildren, Laurel McLaurin (Shane), Jacki Sullivan, Kolte Whitaker (Megan), Heather Smith (Lee), Eric Gould (Riley), Joseph Gould (Hannah), Abby Billings, and Chloe Gould; and her ten great-grandchildren. Glenda  was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Melvin Riley Whitaker; her brother, Gordon Elmo Kendrick; and her granddaughter, Brandy Whitaker. The Whitaker family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
