Glenn N. Fewell, 88, of Whigham, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010 at Pine Forest Baptist Church with Pastor Bruce McCracken and Rev. Scott Lord officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church fellowship hall. Mr. Fewell was born January 11, 1922 in Decatur County, GA, the son of George Washington Fewell and Ella Elizabeth Holt Fewell. He was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1938, was a farmer, and had worked for Engelhard Corporation for over 20 years. Mr. Fewell was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, was a former member of Magnolia Baptist Church, and served as a trustee for the Climax and Bell Dixon Schools. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Mr. Fewell enjoyed spending time with his family, growing pecans, and serving in church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Roy Fewell and Oley Fewell; and his sister, Nadine F. Williams. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Wynelle McNair Fewell of Whigham, GA; his son, Daniel Fewell and his wife Marlis of Climax, GA; his daughters, Judy F. Whitfield and her husband Roger of Lynchburg, VA, Faye F. Gowen and her husband Jim of St. Simons, GA, and Marcia Fewell of Bainbridge, GA; his grandchildren, Mark Whitfield (serving in Iraq) and his wife Deanna, Heather Whitfield, Michael Gowen and his wife Stacy, Leslie McQuigg and her husband John, Zack Gowen and his wife Liz, Stacie Lucas and her husband Lane, Shannon Angle and her husband Pat, and Selena Odom; ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
