Gloria Swicord

Mrs. Gloria Diane Enfinger Swicord, age 71, passed away Friday, February 5, 2016. Services for Mrs. Swicord will be held at 11:00 a.m, Monday, February 8, 2016, at Cox Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Grubbs will be officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 10:00. Gloria Diane Enfinger was born May 12, 1944, to Pete (I.W.) Enfinger and Reba Mae Smith Enfinger, in Donalsonville, Georgia. She married Kermitt Swicord 26 years ago, the love of her life. Gloria loved to be outdoors. She loved to work in her flowers. She could spend hours browsing in flea markets and thrift stores. Mrs. Swicord was an excellent cook. During the holidays, her friends were so excited to be able to receive her date nut balls or caramel apples. Gloria, also, loved to paint. She adored her husband and family but those grandchildren, they truly owned her heart. Gloria Swicord will be sorely missed by the family and friends she loved so very much. Gloria Swicord is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Weyman Kermitt Swicord of Attapulgus, Georgia; children, Benjamin Bradley Brogdon of Bainbridge, Georgia, Andrea Bartholomeus and husband, Dewey of Marysville, Washington, and Audrey Swicord of Helena, Montana; sister, Jeneane Gordon on Shreveport, Louisiana; brother, Herman Enfinger and wife, Patsy of Donalsonville; grandchildren, Ansley Brogdon, Paige Bartholomeus, and Colton Doto; sister-in-law and best friend, Iwana Byrd; dear friend, Laura (sugar) White; many other great friends; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Swicord was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tony Allen; and brothers, Leon and Raymond Enfinger. The family wants to especially thank Dr. Josh Simmons and the staff of Archbold Memorial Hospital, Bainbridge Health and Rehab, and Gentiva Hospice for the excellent love and care Gloria received. Memorial contributions may be sent in her honor to New Harvest Worship Center, 3783 Roscoe Duprest Road, Donalsonville, Georgia 39845, where her brother is pastor.
