Patsy Cowart "Granny Pat" Simmons, 52, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2011 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. James Williamson and Dr. Gerald A. Little officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Thomas Edmondson, Max Battensby, George Battensby, Jason Sellers, Andrew Bristol, and Mills Brock serving as active pallbearers. "Granny Pat" was born October 16, 1959 in Orlando, FL, the daughter of Garney Raymond Cowart and Josie Maude Dean Cowart. She was a caretaker for children and a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Angela Battensby and Stephanie Simmons, both of Bainbridge, GA; her mother, Josie Cowart of Bainbridge, GA; her sister, Pamela Benjamin of Bainbridge, GA; her 8 grandchildren; and her 2 great-grandchildren.
