Mrs. Gussie Brinkley Calhoun, 84, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Franklin Baptist Church with Rev. Conrad Salter officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Baptist Church Cemetery with Michael Rowan, Jonah Manning, Robert Woods, David Mack Brinkley, Fred Brinkley, and Jack Brinkley, II serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 24, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Calhoun was born November 1, 1925 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, the daughter of Lonnie Elester Brinkley and Estelle Pauline Brinkley. She was a homemaker and a member of Franklin Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Fredrick Michael Renfroe. Survivors include a son, Carl Wilson of Florahome, FL; three daughters, Paula Clay of Bainbridge, GA, Shirley Hollon of Plant City, FL and Patricia Cunningham of Bainbridge, GA; two brothers, Jack T. Brinkley of Columbus, GA and David Mack Brinkley of Quincy, FL; five sisters, Nell Davis Gaines of Macon, GA, Sue Harrell of Gainesville, GA, Ann Silver of Bakersfield, CA, Hilda Brinkley of Quincy, FL and Betty Brinkley of Tallahassee, FL; fourteen grandchildren; Rebecca Wilson, Brian Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Sheri Wilson, Michael Ray Rowan, Charity Woods, David Renfroe, Michael James Troup, Jonah Manning, Brianna C. Gainous, Ryan Hollon, Abram Hollon, Adrianna Santa-Cruz and Valeria Santa-Cruz; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
