Guy Cook

Guy Christopher Cook, 50, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Cooks Union United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Poppell officiating. Interment will follow at Cook Cemetery with William Scott, Mike Rudd, Mike Harrell, Greg Gilbourn, Al Boyd, and Eddie Bishop serving as active pallbearers. Chris was born May 10, 1961 in Dothan, AL. He was a graduate of Southwest Georgia Academy in Damascus, GA and attended Bainbridge College. He served as an industrial mechanic with Shaw Industries for over 28 years. Chris was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing and will always be remembered for his time and dedication coaching youth baseball. He was a member of Cooks Union United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Tami D. Cook of Bainbridge, GA; his son, Christian Tanner Cook of Bainbridge, GA; his brothers, Jody Cook and his wife, Mia, of Tallahassee, FL and Mark C. Heard of Bainbridge, GA; his sister, Val Brumbelow and her husband, Jerry, of St. Mary's, GA; and his mother, Carolyn Cook Heard of Bainbridge, GA. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his father, Guy Marlin Cook and his step-father, Cecil C. Heard, Jr.
