Guy Hatcher

Guy V. Hatcher, 83, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away April 6, 2008 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at First Christian Church with Reverend Jeff Stapleton officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, April 7, 2008 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Hatcher was born June 2, 1924 in Eldorendo, GA, the son of Eulie Walon Hatcher and Aluta Mae Valentine Hatcher. He was a graduate of Pine Hill High School, Class of 1940 and served with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Hatcher was a letter carrier with the United States Post Office and was a member and an Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church and the Veterans of Foreign War Post #4904. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Cleveland Hatcher and his daughter, Beth Hatcher. Survivors include his son Bill Hatcher of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Susan Carey of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, E.W. "Pete" Hatcher of Cedar Park, TX; two grandsons, Robert Carey of Bainbridge, GA and Billy Hatcher and wife Brandi of Bainbridge, GA; and one great-granddaughter, Alex Hatcher of Bainbridge, GA.
