Mr. H. Dwight Martin, 78, passed away Friday, January 26, 2007 at Pheobe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, GA. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church near Bainbridge, GA with Elder Walter Todd and Elder Max Childs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Larry Martin, Randy Martin, Bruce Martin, Brad Morris, Otis Dean, Jr., Charles Martin, Reggie Dean, Phillip Martin, Rick Morris, and Kevin Morris serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Martin was born January 27, 1928 in Decatur County, GA, the son of Clarence L. Martin and Birma Harrell Martin. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Philippines and was a retired production supervisor for M & M Mars Candy Company. He was a Deacon of Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Murphy Martin of Albany, GA; three sons, Greg Martin and wife Kathy of Albany, GA, Glenn Martin and wife Juanita of Jamestown, TN, and Keith Martin and wife Jackie of Leesburg, GA; two daughters, Connie Major and husband Charles of Augusta, GA, and Robin Martin of Leesburg, GA; a brother, Haywood Martin and wife Dorothy of Bainbridge, GA; a sister, Dorothy Jean Morris of Bainbridge, GA; and seven grandchildren, Stacy Major, Shelly Major, Kyle Martin, Clay Martin, Ryan Martin, Parker Birchett, and Lee Martin.
