Harriet Flowers Riffee, 70, of Houston, TX (formerly of Bainbridge, GA), passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Reynolds Chapel in First United Methodist Church with Randy Mosley officiating. Harriet was born January 22, 1940 in Bainbridge, GA, the daughter of William Mason Flowers and Anne LeGette Flowers. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1958. She married her husband, Virgil Lee Riffee, in 1959 after a whirlwind romance. They were a devoted and loving couple. She was a homemaker and a serious student of European history and fine antiques. In later years she and her husband built a lovely rose garden which encompassed their entire property and through which they would stroll arm in arm each afternoon. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include her daughters, Susan Hoge and her husband Jim, and Margaret Smith and her husband Chris; her sister, Sarah "Sally" Wolfe and her husband Beau; her grandchildren, Liz Hoge and her fiancé Jim Robinson, and John Hoge and his wife Cassandra; and her aunt, Margaret LeGette Kirbo.
