He was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1958. Cal proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He married Nancy Jean Cooper in 1968 and raised his family in the Climax Community. Cal was a founding member of Maranatha Baptist Church in Climax, GA. Cal was a man of integrity. He exuded Christian character and set a strong example for all those he encountered. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and whatever else was needed in his church. Cal's work ethic was beyond reproach. Though he worked at a snail's pace most of the time, he was busy doing something. He retired from Amoco Fabrics as an electrical supervisor, served as a substitute mail carrier and later as a rural mail carrier, and filled in as a delivery driver for Flowers and More. Cal had a knack for tinkering which meant he was always building or scavenging items to "repurpose". He loved the Lord and shared that same kind of unconditional love with his family and friends. His children and grands loved to hunt, fish, garden, tinker, and ride the tractor with "Grandpa". Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Nancy Jean Bryant of Climax; his children, Harry Maxwell "Max" Bryant and his wife, Dana, of Bainbridge, Daniel Calton "Dan" Bryant and his wife, Heidie, also of Bainbridge, April Dean Bryant and Amy Jean Bryant McCoy, both of Climax; his grandchildren, Christopher Maxwell Bryant and his wife, Shyla, Landen Cutchens Bryant and Megan Kelley, Michaele Caroline Bryant, Callie Cecile Pickle, Caleb Hoyt Bryant and Henry Calton Bryant; his great-grandchildren, Hartley, Cayle, Mason and Isabella; his siblings, Thomas Hoyt Bryant, Sandra Bryant Copeland, Sharon Bryant Ingram and Brenda Bryant Hodges; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Cal was preceded in death by his siblings, Alice B. Morton, Collen O. Bryant, John D. Bryant and Richard A. Bryant.
