Harry Fletcher HeatonOctober 29, 1933 - January 25, 2023 Harry Fletcher Heaton, age 89, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2023. The Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Oak City Cemetery with Reverend Lynn Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private entombment will follow the services at Oak City Cemetery. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Harry was born October 29, 1933, in Bainbridge, Georgia the son of George Sutherland Heaton and Mary Fletcher Heaton. He graduated from Gordan Military Academy in Barnesville, Georgia. Harry worked at Georgia Power Company for 28 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Bainbridge Jaycees. He was a Korean Veteran of the United States Army. Survivors include his daughters, Lisa H. Edgemon (Tommy), Fran H. Brock (Tracy), and Julie H. Smith (Mitch); grandchildren, Mary Frances Edgemon Jarroush (Bernard), George Edgemon (Danielle), Bo Edgemon (Kathryn), Roger Brock (Annette), Eric Brock (Tara), Searcy Smith Norris (Preston), Emma Kate Smith Argo (Cam), and Mitchell Smith (Bree); 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Tommy Miller (Carol); dear friend, Nita Widener; and numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Searcy Heaton. Flowers accepted or donations may be made to St. Jude's at www.stjude.org . The Heaton family has entrusted the arrangements to Ivey Funeral Home, 502 S. Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.
