Harry K. Johnson, 62, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Memorial Manor. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Harry was born July 8, 1947 in Bainbridge, GA. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1965, a graduate of Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and a Funeral Director for thirty-four years with Cox Funeral Home in Bainbridge. He served many years as Deputy Coroner for Decatur County. Harry was a member of Orion Lodge #8 F. & A. M., Bainbridge Jaycees, Georgia Funeral Directors Association and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Alvin Johnson; and his mother and stepfather, Alice Jones Johnson Shellhorse and Ed Shellhorse. Survivors include his wife of forty-one years, Linda Jeter Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Julie J. Cooper and son-in-law Chad Cooper of Tallahassee, FL; three brothers, Thomas A. Johnson of Pensacola, FL, Cecil Johnson of Columbus, GA and Loren Johnson of Bainbridge, GA; a sister, Carolyn J. Toole of Bainbridge, GA; and two grandchildren, Grant Cooper and Marykathryn Cooper.
