Hattie L. Godwin Murphy, 80, of Attapulgus, GA, passed away Monday, April 11, 2011 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Grubbs officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy, FL with Cody Logue, Hunter Logue, David Snow, Tim Gray, Michael Eisch, and Michael Owens serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mrs. Murphy was born June 8, 1930 in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of Robert Lee Cole and Fannie Lou Jones Cole. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, she was a compassionate care giver and touched many families with over 20 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Murphy was preceded in death by her husband Bob Murphy; her brother, R. L. Cole; her sister, Pat Lyons; and her grandson, Jeff Godwin. Survivors include her sons, Al Godwin and his wife, Joyce, of Attapulgus, GA and Mike Godwin and his wife, Candice, of Attapulgus, GA; her sisters, Elizabeth Beazley and her husband, Richard, of Fernandina Beach, FL, Lorraine Weiss of Jacksonville, FL, and Barbara Hall of Jacksonville, FL; her granddaughters, Cindy Logue and her husband, Chris, of Bainbridge, GA and Amy Snow and her husband, David, of Attapulgus, GA; her grandson, Chris Studebaker; and her great-grandchildren, Cody Logue, Hunter Logue, Myranda Snow, Averie Snow, and Dylan Studebaker.
