Hazel Glisson

Hazel King Glisson, 77, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Harrell and Pastor Bruce Hoose officiating. Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Clay Glisson, Anthony Glisson, Roy Dukes, Leonard Bennett, Bill Davis, and Morris Glisson serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Glisson was born January 13, 1934 in Brinson, GA, the daughter of Richard Horace King and Johna Dukes King. Hazel graduated from Brinson High School, later became a seamstress for Jack Winter, Inc and was a member of New Fountainhead Baptist Church. Mrs. Glisson was preceded in death by her husband, Ceaphus Glisson. Survivors include her sons, Andy Glisson and his wife Dianne of Bainbridge, GA, and Allen Glisson and his wife Carolyn of Bainbridge, GA; her brother, E. D. King of Rogers, AR; her sister, Louise Stanley of Statesville, NC; five grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
