Hazel Harrell Salter, 88, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016.The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Grace Community Baptist Church with Rev. Rob Coram and Rev. Conrad Salter officiating. Interment will be at Pine Forest Baptist Church Cemetery with Spence Salter, Travis Salter, Shawn Bullington, Scott Bullington, Weyman Salter, Jr., Ben Poston, Tye Piercey, Michael Shepard, Josh Skipper, Tim Montgomery and Tom Bauldree serving as active pallbearers.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 7, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home. She was a member of Albany Christian Church, Albany, GA. Mrs. Salter loved flowers and had a green thumb like no other. Some said that if she threw out bird seed, birds would grow. She was a great cook and loved her family sometimes a little "too hard". Survivors include her children, Weyman Salter and his wife, Diane, of Albany, GA, Barbara Shepard and her husband, Wayne, of Quincy, FL, Conrad Salter and his wife, Paula, of Bainbridge, GA, Hilda Bullington of Panama City, FL and Daryl Salter and his wife, Barbie, of Leesburg, GA; her, sister, Mattie "Bunch" Auvil and her husband, Merle, of Crawfordville, FL; her 14 grandchildren; her 30 great-grandchildren; and her 3 great great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer E. Salter; and her sister, Evelyn Gillette.
