Henry G. Olivent, 90, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, January 3, 2011 at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Mosley officiating and will conclude at the chapel. Interment will be at Sylvania Cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Olivent was born September 12, 1920 in Bainbridge, the son of William Lewis Olivent and Zudie Ellen Whigham Olivent. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1937 and was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II. He owned and operated Henry's Service Station and Marine Store and later Henry's Tire Service from 1956 until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, V. F. W. Post 4904, and First United Methodist Church. Henry was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Faircloth, his nephew, Melvin Faircloth, Jr., and his niece, Linda Faircloth. Survivors include his brother, W. L. "Bill" Olivent, Jr. and his wife Bobbie of Bainbridge, GA; his nieces, Vera Olivent, Donna Spooner and her husband Shelton, Judy Temples and her husband Billy, all of Bainbridge, and Jeanette Paul and her husband Quinton of Quincy, FL; ten great-nieces and nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and nephews.
