Herschel Bailey

Herschel Thomas "Snake" Bailey, 69, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, November 12, 2010 at his residence. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Bailey was born April 4, 1941 in Cedartown, GA, the son of Herman Thelman Bailey and Essie Dee Partain Bailey. He served in the U. S. Marine Corps, was a steel worker and crane operator for DeKalb Steel for over forty years, and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his brothers, Clifford Bailey and Sammy Bailey; and his sister, Betty B. Floyd. Survivors include his sons, Kevin Bailey of Tifton, GA, and Bryan Bailey of Atlanta, GA; his daughter, Jennifer Bailey of Houston, TX; his "adopted son", Bob Stott of Bainbridge, GA; his brother, Edward Bailey of Atlanta, GA; his three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Andy, and Molli; and several nieces and nephews.
