Huey Rich

Mr. Huey Lafayette Rich, age 79, of Bainbridge, passed away early Friday, June 24, 2016, at Memorial Manor. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 26, 2016, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Nalls will be officiating. The interment will follow in Brinson Cemetery. Jeremy Jackson, Daniel Jackson, Dawson Jackson, Zachary Jackson, Rae Givens, and Ricky McCall will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends one hour before the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Huey Lafayette Rich was born February 4, 1937 in Bainbridge, Georgia, to David Douglas Rich and Rebecca Viola Day Rich. He married the love of his life, JoAnn Givens Rich. They have been together for over 56 years. Lafayette was a man of great humor. He was quick with a good joke. Lafayette gave a nickname to all those he loved. He was a gifted guitarist and songwriter. He wrote beautiful poetry. Mr. Rich enjoyed fishing and woodworking. Lafayette deeply loved his family. He enjoyed every moment he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lafayette Rich will be sorely missed by the many friends and family he loved so very much. Huey Lafayette Rich is survived by his wife, JoAnn Givens Rich; daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Dean Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Devid and Inez Rich; sister-in-law, Fran Rich; grandsons and their wives, Jeremy and Dawn Jackson and Daniel and Rosanna Jackson; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Zachary, Dylan, and Jenna Jackson; and several nieces, and nephews.
