Ilona Roxie BarrettOctober 29, 1954 - November 30, 2023 Ilona Roxie Barrett, age 69, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. Ilona was born October 29, 1954 in Cairo, Illinois, the daughter of Oneal Carol Brown and Mildred Louise Brown. Ilona loved fishing, camping, and spending time with her family. She had a deep love for her animals and the holidays. She loved gardening, the outdoors, and her flowers. Ilona had her porches filled with windchimes and flowers. She loved to be outside in the open air. Survivors include her children, Sherry Whitaker, Tina Whitaker, Anthony Whitaker (Robin), Heather Whitaker, and Jenny Whitaker (Greg) ; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, DeRhonda Wages and Bonita Berry; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ilona was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael Franklin Barrett; and siblings, Cotton Brown and Karen Dunn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bainbridge Decatur County Humane Society or the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Fund, komen.org.
