Inez Bishop Thomas, 87, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, June, 13, 2011 at Bainbridge Health Care. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Conrad Salter officiating, and will conclude in the chapel. Interment will be held at Horne Cemetery in Thomasville, GA. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Ivey Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Box 96011,Washington, DC 20090-6011. Mrs. Thomas was born February 15, 1924 in Grady County, GA, the daughter of Willie Henry "Shorty" Bishop and Armelia Knight Bishop. She was a graduate of Climax High School, worked at Sunnyland Farms in Thomasville, GA, and was a Secretary in Gainesville, FL for many years. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cairo, GA. Survivors include her stepson, Stanley Thomas of California; her stepdaughter Leanna Staines of Mexico; her brother, J. E. Bishop of Bainbridge, GA; her sisters, Sara Vonceil Palmer of Bainbridge, GA and Frances Hatcher of Baconton, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Thomas and her sister, Alva Nell Hatcher.
