Iola Vickers

Iola Earnest "Odie" Vickers, 91, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010 at Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 25, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Willis officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Gilead Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Bobby Howard, Ricky Howard, Roy Howard, Roger Smith, Ray Josey, and Rodrick Harrell serving as active pallbearers. Mrs. Vickers was born July 25, 1918 in Decatur County, GA, the daughter of Ora Wilford Earnest and Mary Romelle Valentine Earnest. She was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, I. V. Vickers, and a sister, Sarah Howard. Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn Smith and her husband C.M. of Bainbridge, GA and Christine Josey of Bainbridge, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
