Irene Perkins Welch, 83, of Cairo, GA, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Welch was born December 26, 1930 in Texas Township, IL, the daughter of Harry Oscar Perkins and Nellie Irene Gelsinger Perkins. She was a homemaker and child care provider, and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her children, Mike Lane (Susie) of Cairo, GA, Dwight Welch (Sandra) of Cairo, GA, and Doyle Welch (Toni) of Bainbridge, GA; her brother, Arlin Perkins of Marion, IL; her grandchildren, Amanda Lane, John Lane, Haley Harrell, and Meghan Welch; and her great-grandchildren, Lucas Lane, Jaylin Lane, and Landon Lane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Welch; and her siblings, Alvin Perkins, Dean Perkins, Paul Perkins, Donald Perkins, and Everett Perkins.
