Iva Lanier

Mrs. Lanier was born on October 9, 1934 in Taylorsville, GA, the daughter of the late Charlie Waters and the late Van Dora Maxwell Waters. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Taylorsville Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, David Harold Lanier. Mrs. Lanier is survived by her husband to whom she married on November 9, 1953, Mr. George Lanier; two sons, Hoyt Lanier and his wife, Tina of Rockmart and Hugh Lanier and his wife, Susan of Bainbridge; five grandchildren, David Lanier and his wife, Holly, Brad Lanier and his wife, April, Katie Lanier, Melissa Lanier and Jay Lanier; five great grandchildren, Ansley, Caroline, and Dawson Scoggins, Hayden and Hunter Sinard; and a sister, Marie Quick of Rockmart. Funeral graveside and interment services will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the family lot of the Taylorsville Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Harris and Rev. Rusty Lanier officiating. Pallbearers will be David Lanier, Brad Lanier, Chad Lanier, Corey Lanier, Larry Lanier, and Mitchell Bagley. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 between the hours of 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements for Mrs. Iva Ruth Lanier.
