Mr. J. Clifford Dollar, 86, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at his residence. The funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007at Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Max Childs officiating. Interment will follow at Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Cliff Dollar, Lyle Dollar, Jeff Lawson, Wayne Boyett, Tommy Boyett, Jamie Jordon, Greg Rentz and Jeff Morris serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Dollar was born April 5, 1921 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of George Emory Dollar and Mittie Singleton Dollar. He was a farmer and Deacon of Prosperity Primitive Baptist Church. He served as a Trustee of the Decatur County Board of Education for 5 years; served on the Decatur County Board of Commissioners for 24 years, 8 years as Chairman; served on the Georgia State Extension Advisory Committee; and was a Director for First State Bank and Trust Co. and its predecessor, The Citizens Bank and Trust Company for 19 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Boyett Dollar. Survivors include two sons, Clifford Dollar, Jr. and wife Beaver of Bainbridge, GA, and Lowell Dollar and wife Robin of Bainbridge, GA; a daughter, Anne D. Lawson of Ellijay, GA; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
