Julian Allen Smith, age 69, of Bainbridge, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at 5:30 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Allen was born July 20, 1952, in Bainbridge, Georgia, the son of Julian U. Smith and Margaret Caraway Smith. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1971. Many will remember Allen for his many years at Harvey's Food Mart and Alford's Grocery and will have a story or two to share about his love for life and his caring disposition. If you had the privilege of knowing Allen, you knew of his great love for country music, most notably Reba McEntire. His favorite pastimes include singing karaoke, fishing on Lake Seminole, eating at the Pond House, and sharing stories of his childhood. Allen is survived by his stepsister, Glenda Wistar of Phoenix, AZ and was preceded in death by his parents.
