J Steadham

Mr. J. Frank Steadham, 98, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, August 24, 2007 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2007 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Dr. Edmond Long and Dr. Danny Shepard officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with his nephews and his great-grandson Hunter Thomason serving as active pallbearers. Mr. Steadham was born August 28, 1908 in Arlington, GA to the late John Henry Steadham and Claudia Gates Steadham. He served in the U. S. Merchant Marines during World War II and was a retired tile setter and farmer. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Steadham was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Lollie Edmonds Steadham, and his daughter, Mary Alice Steadham. Survivors include his daughter, Jane S. Black and husband Fred of Bainbridge, GA; two sons, Stanley Steadham and wife Patsy of Bainbridge, GA, and Robert Edmonds and wife Maria of Charleston, SC; seven grandchildren, Shawn Steadham, Chris Dukes, Connie Thomason, Susie Rush, Robert Edmonds, Jr., Les Edmonds, and Chris Edmonds; and seven great-grandchildren, Hunter Thomason McCall Mason, Rivir Edmonds, Jagger Edmonds, Laura E. Dickson, Diane Edmonds, and Jonathan Edmonds.
