John Ray "Ronnie" Whiddon, Jr., 67, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Friday, September 11, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 14, 2009 at Eldorendo Baptist Church with Rev. Thomas P. Long officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Active pallbearers will be Gary Davis, Haisten Wilkinson, Dan Scott, Jim Rentz, Mike Ward, Leroy White, and Jerry Muse. Ronnie was born September 9, 1942, in Bainbridge, GA, the son of John Ray Whiddon and Alpha Hull Whiddon. He was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1960, was a retired Aviation Machinist Mate First Class with 20 years of service in the United States Navy, and attended Eldorendo Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Jean Harvey Whiddon of Bainbridge, GA; three sons, John Morris Whiddon of Milton, FL, Michael Wayne Whiddon and his wife Shannon of Milton, FL, and Shannon Cullifer and his wife Linda of Bainbridge, GA; one daughter, Dana Cullifer Maxwell and her husband Don of Bainbridge, GA; one sister, Lillian W. Swicord and her husband Luther of Bainbridge, GA; eight grandchildren, Alicia Bean, Gage Whiddon, Madison Whiddon, Meghan Cabanos, Dusty Whiddon, Christopher Whiddon, Zac Maxwell and Natalie Grubbs; and one great-granddaughter, Caroline Grubbs.
