Jack Bishop, 86, of Ochlocknee, GA, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Brock officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Ray Morrison, Wayne Morrison, Murray Bishop, Randy Weathersby, Johnathan Cannon and Bill Powell serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Bishop was born June 5, 1929 in Whigham, GA, the son of Arthur J. Bishop and Maggie Mae Boyett Bishop. He was a graduate of Whigham High School, Class of 1947. Mr. Bishop was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired as Master Sergeant with 22 years of service. After retirement from the military, he pursued a career in real estate as a broker and then as an appraiser. Mr. Bishop was a member of Little Ochlocknee Baptist Church. During Sgt. Bishop's military career, He spent time in many places in the world. These included Greenland, Labrador, England, France, Whales, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, Azores, Morocco, North Africa, Hawaii, Wake, Guam, Saipan, Phillippines, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Phoenix Islands, American Samoa, Ireland, Kwajalein and Enewetak in the Marshall Islands, Bermuda, as well as many Air Force Bases in the United States. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Florence Weathersby Bishop of Ochlocknee, GA; his daughters, Christie Ellis and her husband, Tim, of Ft. Motte, SC and Nan Zinger and her husband, Phil of Lynn Haven, FL; his sister, Janice Maxey of Cairo, GA; his grandchildren, Shannon Rabon and his wife, Tammy, of Valdosta, GA, Jamie Rabon of Lynn Haven, FL, Renee Kentoff and her husband, Eric, of Jupiter, FL, and Rebecca Lott and her husband, Jared, of Summerville, SC; and his great-grandchildren, Keighan Drew Haines of Lynn Haven, FL, Robert Traylor, Jr. of Columbia, SC, Alexis Lott of Summerville, SC, Kaylee Lott of Summerville, SC, Lakin Lott of Summerville, SC and Lucy Kentoff of Jupiter, FL. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Delma Bishop, Hershel Bishop, Lula Mae Bishop Morrison, Ruby Bishop, Pauline Bishop Irwin, Ila Bishop Williams and Dorthy Bishop Logue.
