Jack Stewart Carr, 74, of Seminole County, GA, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2016.The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at Spring Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Hatchett and Rev. Johnny Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Bob Bankston, Tony McElroy, Chad Carr, Jeff Enders, Gary Holden and B.J. VanHousen serving as active pallbearers. Jon Carl Walker will serve as an honorary pallbearer.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, August 1, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to: Spring Creek Baptist Church, 2653 Highway 253, Donalsonville, GA 39845.Jack Stewart Carr was born March 21, 1942 in Knoxville, TN, the son of Frank Carr and Mildred Randolph Carr. He was a graduate of Knox County High School. Jack married the love of his life, Wanda Aileen Pierce, in October of 1959. He retired from Lockheed Martin in Orlando, FL. Jack was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.Jack was a "Mr. Fix-It" who loved to tinker on everything from the cars, tractors and boats he restored to whatever else he could take apart. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed being outdoors. The smile you saw on his face when motoring in the RV or setting up a campsite was only a reflection of the joy in his heart. Jack never met a stranger and was a person that seemed to build a lifetime friendship in a split second. He didn't mind carrying on a good laugh and especially enjoyed picking on his best friend, Wanda. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Wanda Piece Carr of Seminole County, GA; his sons, Mark Steven Carr and his wife, Janice, of Cairo, GA and Jack Edward Carr and his wife, Kim, of Donalsonville, GA; his sisters, Anna Lou Grant of Santa Cruz, CA and Libby Jones of Knoxville, TN; his grandchildren, Chad, Carey, Nikki, Ashley, Danielle, Tony, Alanna, Brian and Candace; and his great-grandchildren, Camdan, Caden, Evan, Brianna, Mya, Sarah, Spencer and Preston. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Jimmy Carr, Ralph Carr, Bobby Carr and Wayne Carr.
