Jack McRae, 90, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Monday, June 6, 2011 at his residence. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Glover and Rev. Warren Fox officiating and will conclude at the church with full military honors provided by the U. S. Navy Honor Guard. Interment will be at Delwood Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral services from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Morningside Baptist Church. Mr. McRae was born May 14, 1921 in Grady County, GA, the son of John Ira McRae and Eva Amanda Larkin McRae. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII and retired after serving his country for over 20 years. Mr. McRae retired from Engelhard Corporation with over 25 years of service. He was active in the community as a member of Morningside Baptist Church, the Joy Light Sunday School Class, VFW Post #4904 and the American Legion Post #62. Mr. McRae will be remembered as a man who was passionate about his family, fishing, and his garden. Survivors include his wife, Betty Darley McRae of Bainbridge, GA; his daughters, Debra Jackson Quillen and her husband, Curtis, of Pine Mountain, GA and Trina McRae Meredith and her husband, Roger, of Bainbridge, GA; his four grandchildren, Stacey Heard, Ashley Quillen, William Jake Meredith, and Emily Meredith; his four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. McRae was preceded in death by his son, Mark Eugene McRae; his brothers, Elwood McRae and his wife, Katie Mae, Dewey McRae and his wife, Matilda, and Paul McRae and his wife, Louise; and his sisters, Rudine Perry and her husband, Harold, and Ina Fewell and her husband, Roy.
