Funeral services for Jacob Aaron Mathis, age 13 of Bainbridge, will be held Thursday, May 7, 2009 at 4:00 PM. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Bro. Stanley Phillips, Rev. James Scarborough and Dr. Carl Garnett officiating. Interment will follow at Brinson Cemetery with Jesse Harris, Tyler Pippins, Brian Ross, Michael Ross, Mike Pepper, James Trawick, Jimmy Nix and Wesley Hooks serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 6, 2009 from 5:00 - 9:00 PM at Cox - Ware Funeral Home Chapel. Jacob passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Egleston Childrens Hospital in Atlanta. He was born in Grady, Co. He attended Hutto Middle School where he played the snare drums in the band. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Jacob was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed skateboarding, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his parents Michael V.and Amanda Mathis and Jenny Davis all of Bainbridge, three sisters Cara Ross and Amanda Ross of Brinson and Rebecca Mathis of Bainbridge; one brother Joey Mathis of Bainbridge; maternal grandparents Eileen Ulmer of Bainbridge, Ronnie E. Jackson of Thomasville and Wanda Swords both of Thomasville and Bobby Swords of Blakely; paternal grandparents Deborah Jackson of Bainbridge, Ann Mathis and Vernon Mathis both of Brinson; a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.
