Jacob Sturgill

April 27, 1995 — August 17, 2020

Jacob Colby was born in Pikeville, Kentucky to Dale Sturgill and Cheryl Jackson on April 27, 1995. He gained his angel wings on August 17, 2020. He attended West Florence High School in Florence, SC and was a graduate of Wake Tech Community College and attended UNCW in Wilmington. He was born a Kentucky Wildcat with a fierce personality and unmatched love for his family, friends, and his basketball team. His siblings were his whole world. He had a crazy love for Taco Bell, Little Debbie oatmeal pies, Joanna Gaines and Diet Dr. Pepper. His smile would light up even the darkest room. He was beautiful, silly and had more hair products than any man should have. He loved to travel and spent his last year going across the country doing another great love of his-spreading the Chick-Fil-A mission of being "remark"able. It was truly his pleasure to train alongside his teammates. There he found happiness and forever friends. The last few months with Josh and Krystal, Meghan and Jessica gave him a happiness that brought out the best in him. He grew to love Georgia and the people surrounding him. For that we will be forever grateful. Jacob loved to laugh, dance (even though he couldn't), and make people smile. He truly cared about his customers and everyone around him. His greatest joy came from his family and siblings, most of all his big "seester" and best friend Caitlin.  His sisters and brothers gave him a passion to live to be a role model and an amazing big "bubba". They will never forget him. His goal in life was to be like Peter Pan, to live life to its fullest without having to lose his inner child. He wanted to see every continent and travel to all 50 states. He was well on his way to achieving that goal before God needed him more. His voice, personality and smile will forever be remembered by everyone that knew him. As you remember Jacob, take his spirit and soar with it, take his enthusiasm and copy it, take his sarcasm and remember it. As Jacob would tell you when asked about the meaning of life, always "thrive" not just "survive". He was preceded in death by his grandmother Ruth and his forever friend (cat) Shiloh. He is survived by his mother Cheryl Jackson (John), his father Dale (Dori), grandparents, five sisters, and two brothers. McLaurin Funeral Home in Clayton, NC is assisting the family with arrangements.
