Jacqueline Shirley

Miss Jacqueline Lucile Shirley, age 83, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Seminole Manor in Donalsonville, Georgia. Due to the weather - services have been moved to the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 20. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. There will be a private burial in Oak City Cemetery. Jacqueline Lucile Shirley was born July 2, 1940, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Claude William Shirley, Sr. and Minnie Peacock Ash Shirley. She was a lifelong resident of Bainbridge, still living in the same house where she was born. Lucile was a great seamstress and amazing cook. She worked as an agent for Callahan Insurance for over 50 years. Lucile loved going to the beach. Her heartbeat was her family. She dearly loved them. She took care of them and anyone else in need. She loved getting together for Sunday afternoon drives and a visit to Dairy Queen. Lucile will be deeply missed by her precious family and many friends. Lucile is survived by her siblings, Peggy S. Merkison and Claude Shirley, Jr. of Bainbridge, Sadie S. Kirkland of Colquitt, Georgia, and Glenn T. (Duck) Shirley, Sr. (Beth) of Blackshear, Georgia, numerous nieces and nephews, and great- nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marlene Vickers, Martha Royal, Betty Sue Musgrove, Byrdie S. Dennis, Beck S. Cliett, and William C.
