James Connell

James M. Connell, 73, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Tallahassee, FL. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jean Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery with James Connell, Jr., George Marvis, David White, Ricky Wheeler, Joe Knight, Billy Murkerson, Mike Clinton, Michael Bowen and Johnny Hand serving as active pallbearers. James was born March 21, 1937 in Bainbridge, GA, the son of Henry Grady Connell and Sarah Rucia Scott Connell. He worked for Miller Hydro Company for over twenty years, was the owner of C & J Enterprises and was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Connell was preceded in death by his daughter, Ginger Teresa Connell. Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Hodges Connell of Bainbridge, GA; his sons, James Connell, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Dothan, AL, Tommy Connell and his wife Tammy of Bainbridge, GA, Mickey Connell and his wife Lorie of Bainbridge, GA, Stevie Connell of Bainbridge, GA and Ricky Wheeler of Bainbridge, GA; his daughter, Chris Smith and her husband Pat of Atlanta, GA; his brothers, Scott Connell and his wife Eloise, Deese Connell and his wife Carolyn and Jack Connell and his wife Dana; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
