Mr. James (Jim) Glisson, age 76, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida. A Memorial Service will be held for Mr. Glisson at 3:00 pm, Friday, April 11, 2025, in the Cadwell Chapel of Cox-Ivey Funeral Home.
James (Jim) Glisson was born October 22, 1948, in Cuthbert, Georgia, to Martha Louise Fellows Glisson-Peel and James Lewis Glisson, his parents have preceded him in death. Jim married Katheryn Dekle Glisson, and they have shared 19 wonderful years together. He proudly served in the U. S. Navy. He was a true patriot and had great respect for those that have served and are serving in the military. He was a man of strong beliefs. Jim lived to help others. He was always ready to talk to anyone. Sailor, Gunner, and Lily were his canine companions and much loved. Jim retired as a corrections officer at the prison in Bainbridge, Georgia. He was a good husband and good friend to all. He will be missed but will not be forgotten.
James (Jim) Glisson is survived by his wife, Katheryn Dekle Glisson and nieces and nephew, Angela Hernandez, Amanda Zarker, and Kevin Harrison. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Denise Irene Harrison and Phyllis Ingram.
