James Leslie Godwin, Jr., 49, of Bainbridge, GA, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. James Leslie Godwin, Jr. was born February 12, 1971 in Colquitt, GA, the son of James Leslie Godwin, Sr. and Sara Jane Musgrove Godwin. James learned early on his hands were his money makers. He loved to know how things work and figure out how to make them work again. He tinkered with four-wheelers and computers, painted a little and welded some too. He was a neat freak and rarely had idle time. James was Baptist by faith. Survivors include his sons, Nicolas Godwin and Patrick James Godwin, both of Putney, GA; his mother, Sara Roberson; and his sisters, Angel Godwin (Buck Schaffer) of Tampa, FL and Thelma Renee Lamb of Colquitt, GA. James was preceded in death by his father.
