Mr. James Judson (Jud) Greene, age 58, died Friday, December 27, 2019, at Miller County Hospital in Colquitt, Georgia. A visitation will be held 1:30 - 2:30 pm, Sunday, December 29, at the Cadwell Chapel of Cox Funeral Home. At 3:00 pm, a graveside funeral service will be held at Oak City Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Crapps, Rev. George Masciarelli, and Pastor Dan Harper will officiate. Michael Barber, Donald Barber, Jim Dozier, Wes Dozier, Bill Bridges, and Paul Bridges will serve as honorary pallbearers. James Judson (Jud) Greene was born September 30, 1961 to James Ernest Greene and Barbara Woodruff Greene. Jud followed in his father's footsteps and became an award-winning farmer. He was a proud graduate of ABAC and attended the University of Georgia. Jud was heavily involved with the Georgia Peanut Commission. He was a member of the Iron City Methodist Church and was a member of Gideons International. Always willing to help others, he was well-respected and will be greatly missed. Jud Greene is survived by his mother, Barbara Woodruff Greene of Brinson, Georgia; brothers, Lane Greene and wife, Teresa of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; and Joel Greene of Brinson; nephew, Garret Greene; niece, Tessa Greene; and his dog and faithful companion, Moo. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rhonda Holt Greene and father, James E. Greene. Donations may be made in his memory to the Decatur County Camp of Gideons International, P. O. Box 38, Bainbridge, Georgia 39818, Seminole County Camp of Gideons International, P. O. Box 4615, Donalsonville, Georgia 39845, or the charity of your choice.
