James B. Holton, 77, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge, GA. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 2007 at Black Jack Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. Joe Poitevent officiating. Interment will follow at Black Jack Baptist Church Cemetery with Earl Austin, Jed Tillery, Dan Arnold, Watson Sasser, Jimmy Hooks and Charles Brock serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Ivey Funeral Home. Online visitors may sign the guest register at www.iveyfuneral.com . Mr. Holton was born May 12, 1930 in Whigham, GA to the late William Bryant Holton and Lessie Wynn Holton. He served in the US Army as a Tank Sgt. in Korea. Mr. Holton retired as a machinist with Georgia Pacific in 1995. Survivors include his wife, Maxine S. Holton of Bainbridge, GA; a son, Jimmy Bryant Holton of Bainbridge, GA; a brother, Huey Holton of Orlando, FL; and one grandchild, Ashley Holton of Canton, GA.
